“Jazz is restless. It won’t stay put and it never will” – Trombonist J.J. Johnson

It has been two years of enthralling performances beneath the iconic Singapore skyline, and the Singapore International Jazz Festival (Sing Jazz) is set to return for its third successive year at Marina Bay Sands from March 4-6, promising three nights of music and more for all.

A vibrant experience set against a stunning backdrop at the Event Plaza located at Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza, expect to be charmed and swayed by the heady mix of music lined up for three captivating al-fresco evenings of great ‘live’ entertainment.

Kick off your Sing Jazz 2016 experience with the music from neo-soul band, Hiatus Kaiyote while the dazzling Grammy Award winner Joss Stone will take over the stage on the second night with her perfect combination of smooth and sultry. Finally, seize the opportunity and dance along to the legendary Buena Vista Social Club on their last ever tour.

SingJazz aspires to establish itself as a premier international Festival of jazz and jazz-inspired music. Bringing together world-class artists at the iconic venue of the Marina Bay Sands, Sing Jazz seeks to harness the creative energy that is the essence of jazz, and indeed of Singapore itself.

There’s an important social and developmental element to SingJazz, in that proceeds from the Festival go towards supporting the Foundation for The Arts & Social Enterprise in its efforts to help nurture and promote nascent local jazz talent through a Jazz Academy, in turn creating a ‘circle of help and encouragement’ to Singapore’s up-coming generation of artists.

Establish an enduring, world-class live music festival, partnering with private enterprise and the Government of Singapore.

Bring together some of the world’s leading jazz artists, together with emerging talents, both regional and local, in a unique, state-of-the art creative environment that is both inspiring and fulfilling.

Showcase jazz, in all its forms, at its live and spontaneous best.

Support the Foundation for Arts and Social Enterprise in providing funding to help nurture and promote nascent local jazz talent, this through a Jazz Academy.

In the process, foster a more widespread appreciation of jazz, and jazz-inspired genres of music, in Singapore and across the region

Raise the profile of Singapore as a regional and international hub of arts & culture.
